EXECUTIVE BOARD

IGLYO Executive Board is the organization's main governing body. Board members are elected every 2 year by the General Assembly.

The General Assembly which took place in Malaga (Spain), the 6-8 December, has appointed as Board Members for the years 2007-2009:

Claire Anderson
Membership Officer
Claire is an activist from the UK, where she co-convenes NUS LGBT - the student campaign for LGBT rights, by which she is currently employed. Claire's main areas of interest are education policy development, and developing a strategic approach to tackling homophobia, in all its forms. She believes in grass-roots and member-led activism, and has been active in IGLYO since 2006.

Augustas Cicelis
Treasurer & Coordinator for Human Rights
Augustas has an MA in social work (policy) and is a Human Rights activist. Since 2006 has been actively involved in international as well as national volunteer and professional work in TJA (Lithuania), notably working for the emancipation of LGBTQ youth, whilst integrating LGBTQ issues within the larger Human Rights scale.

Ilke Jaspers
Policy Officer & Coordinator for Health
Ilke studied BA social policy and BA political science in Belgium and is now continuing her MA Baltic Studies in Estonia, Tartu. Her main interest is politics of the post-communistic countries and the development within the EU. She is doing voluntary work for the Belgian LGBT Youth organization Wel Jong Niet Hetero where she created team international and was international coordinator before she moved to Estonia.

Simon Maljevac
Co-Chairperson
Simon Maljevac has been involved in LGBTQ activism since 2001 when he started working for LEGEBITRA. In 2006 he started working as a centre director and Core Activities and Program Coordinator of Informational and Counselling centre LEGEBITRA in Ljubljana. He's also a human rights trainer. He has been actively involved in IGLYO since 2005.

Nanna Moe
Communication Officer
With a BA in Communications and English in 2004, Nanna is continuing her education with a goal to receive a MA in Communication in winter 2008. She defines communication as her lover, and works with communication of the World Outgames 2009. Besides sleeping with communication, Nanna is also the chairperson of the youth branch of The Danish National Association of Gays & Lesbians (LBL) - LBL-Ungdom.

Lucy Nowottnick
Co-Chairperson & Coordinator for Inter-religious and Intercultural dialogue
Lucy studies Gender Studies and Islamic Science in Berlin and would like to do a doctorate afterwards. Alongside her studies she is working as a student research assistant. Before she joined the IGLYO board she worked for the board of Lambda, the LGBT youth organisation in Germany, for which she organised youth exchanges, took part in international LGBT youth conferences and lobbied on a national as well as on the European level.

Bruno Selun
Secretary & Coordinator for Education
Bruno studies Philosophy and Education in London, and expects to graduate in June 2008. He has been in the IGLYO Board since September 2006, Bruno now focuses on issues around education and the internal development of IGLYO. Activist since 2002, he has been involved at local, national and European levels for school student unions (former OBESSU Board member) and in LGBTQ activism.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The General Assembly which took place in Malaga (Spain), the 6-8 December, has appointed as Advisors to the Board:

Björn van Roozendaal
Björn currently still represents IGLYO to the Council of Europe Affairs Commission (COEACOM) of the European Youth Forum. He works as international consultant for COC Netherlands in Central-Asia and formerly worked in the Balkans. His work for IGLYO was honoured with the election of 'Dutch Young European Citizen of the Year" (2007) and the establishment of the IGLYO 'Van Roozendaal' award in 2007.

Darren R. Vella
Darren has an academic background in the social sciences with a specialization in psychology. He works in a London based LGBT organisation called The Consortium of LGBT Voluntary and Community Organisations. Darren been involved in numerous LGBT organizations for the past years engaging in numerous projects, events, organizational development and research.


FINANCIAL AUDITING COMMITTEE

The Auditors’ task is to provide an independent assessment on the books as they are presented to the General Assembly (ex. IGLYO Statutes, art. 9). The General Assembly which took place in Malaga (Spain), the 6-8 December, has appointed as Financial Auditors for the years 2007-2009:

Ásta Ósk Hlöðversdóttir
Ásta has a B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Iceland. She has been active in LGBTQ student activism since 2002, and was the chairperson of FSS, Organization of Queer Students in Iceland from 2004-2006. Ásta is the president of ANSO, Association of Nordic LGBTQ Student Organizations. She currently lives in Sweden, and works full time for ANSO.


Maxence de Barros
Maxence is the treasurer of its local LGBT student organisation, Homozygote, and use to be IGLYO's treasurer so as an ex board member he knows how IGLYO is working. These are the reasons why he has presented himself to be involve in IGLYO's financial committee.
